Become a Council Member

 

The Niagara College Student Council is elected by the students of Niagara College every spring. Any returning students may run for a position on SAC at these elections. Nomination forms are available in the SAC offices in the spring term.

Some conditions apply for eligibility:

1. File nomination in a sealed envelope in person at any Student Administrative Council Inc. office no later than 12:00 noon on the deadline date indicated, and

2. Meet the Corporation's membership requirements and be in good standing with Niagara College as stated in Article 3.01 of the NCSAC Constitution, and

3. Be enrolled as a full time or part time Niagara College post secondary student, or show a leter of acceptance to a Niagara College post secondary program for the upcoming fall semester, and be able to meet the required office hours for the position, and

4. Have a minimum term G.P.A. of 65% for the semester completed prior to the election, or for January start students only, provide a letter of recommendation from their program coordinator, and

5. Be bondable, and

6. Be at least 18 years of age at the start of the academic year, and

7. Have not previously been removed from office under Article 4.02 of the NCSAC Constitution.

All SAC positions are paid and are recognized by the College as a General Elective option worth 3 credits following the successful completion of the year and will appear on transcripts as Student Leadership course.
