SAC’s student-run food banks are available for all students to access non-perishable food and toiletry items throughout the year when experiencing financial restraints.
To access the food bank, all you have to do is go to your campus’ SAC Office and ask about it. As students themselves, SAC understands the stress that arises when experiencing financial restraints. Our food banks are here to help students to relieve some of that stress by providing them with some of life’s necessities.
SAC runs an Annual Food Drive to collect donations from the College community and local communities, as well as through SAC Fundraising Events, to help keep the Food Bank shelves stocked. Currently, the Student Food Banks serve over 500 students a year. We encourage all students to make use of the food banks or to donate what they can at any time. If you’re ever in need, please don’t hesitate to come down to your campus’ SAC Office and fill up a grocery bag.
In Welland, the SAC Office and food bank is located on the second floor of ‘The Core’ Student Centre. In Niagara-on-the-Lake, you will find the SAC Office and food bank on the lower level, down the hall from ‘The Armoury’ Student Centre.
You can now send in a Student Food Bank request online using this form.
